Lord Nelson Pub & Accommodation

ABOUT US

We are situated in the heart of the town of Bridport and we have a brilliant team of staff to look after you. They are all local to Bridport and therefore know the best places to visit whether in the town browsing the shops or seeking local walks with the dog.  The courtyard garden is child and dog friendly and a suntrap, we even have our own banana tree.

The Lord Nelson Hotel is a long building which benefits from having a full length skittle alley, courtyard garden (safe for the kids and dogs) and residents lounge.  This can be a quiet retreat for those who require a quiet area away from their rooms.  For walkers and cyclists who need a stopover on their travels, we have a drying room available for wet weather gear and also dry storage for the bikes.

At the beginning of 2018 we became a sponsor for Help for Heroes and we have various military plaques above the bar which have been donated from local people that served in the military along with our own family members.

We are a dog friendly pub/hotel and we welcome your dogs both in the pub and in our rooms.

Bridport is a busy Market Town which boasts many annual events which welcomes a lot of visitors to the town.  This ranges from Music Festivals, Beer Festivals to Torchlight Processions.  Take a look at our ‘Events’ page to check what’s happening this year so you can book early to join the fun.  West Bay is a short walk away through the fields (perfect dog walking country) which was the prime spot for Broadchurch watchers.

Parking is next door to the pub although a public car park, its free after 6pm until 8am daily and free on Sundays.

There is also a residents lounge where you can relax away from the Bar or if you are more energetic, then take a pleasant 25 minute walk to nearby West Bay with its fabulous seascape and cliffs.  The alternative could be a wander through Bridport and its shops and emporiums and where live music is often playing in Bucky Doo Square.  The theatre in the town has to be visited to be appreciated, an icon of art deco in style, it stages music, films and plays every week (Electric Palace).
